Football Season

Had to drag him back from his game, kicking and screaming...but I managed to get him to let me take a few football pics!  He's forbidden me to put the images on Facebook ("he's a baseball player, not a football player!"), but he can't dictate what I put in my blog!

Blake bought his "Livestrong" bracelet in honor of  his cousin Brent right before we left for Cooperstown this past summer.  He has worn it in honor of Brent ever since.  I love that it's important to him to remember his amazing cousin, and can only pray that it helps him remember the example that Brent set for all of us.

Halloween!

It's sad that two of my boys are too grown up to trick-or-treat.  Seeing all those cute little kids dressed up made me wish mine were little again.  However...never to fear...Blake is not yet "above" trick-or-treating!  He went out with a bunch of his friends - most of them in "morph suits".  Originally, he was going with a Texas Rangers (baseball team) theme, but after the World Series fiasco, he opted for his UCLA gear. Good choice.

They walked miles and brought in way more candy than any one kid needs!  But, according to him, it was one of the most fun Halloweens ever!  Sadly, with him being in 8th grade, it will probably be his last year to trick-or-treat.  Alas, another of my boys passes to the world of way-too-cool-teenagers.
